Pinot Blanc

The Pinot Blanc, which can also be called Weißer Burgunder has high
demands on the soil and the location it is planted in. It needs a deep soil
with a good nutrition supply. Also it prefers warm and sunny sites and is
prone to deep winter-frost. The yield is average and the harvest starts
between the beginning and the mid of October. The "Pinot Blanc Late Harvest"
is of a very high quality and a noble full bodied wine, particularily when
it offers a higher sugar content and higher acidity.
We also offer the dry Pinot Blanc Late Harvest aged in Barriques ("barrel
aged") for several month. This wine is distincted through its yeasty touch
coming from the yeast-contact within the casks, its balminess due malolactic
fermentation and high alcohol content. Unusual in Austria this complies to
typical international white wines.
