A bottle of Welschriesling Auslese.

Welschriesling Auslese 2000

A typical variety of middle and southeastern Europe. The Welschriesling is well knwown for very zippy and fruity wines with fragrant aromatics and a pithy acidity. This attributes lead to its excellent reputation not only as high quality dry wine but also as the foundation for making great champagnes as well as noble dessert wines. The small berries of the Welschriesling reach very high sugar concentrations and quickly become even sweeter when affected by Botrytis. Nevertheless dessert wines of this variety are never disharmoniously sweet due to their fine acid structure. Not even at the highest sugar contents.

Tasting notes: This tender sweet Welschriesling Auslese 2000 is a full-bodied, spicy and aromatic wine with exceptional harmonic proportions of acidity, sugar and alcohol. It is well suited for cheese, sweet meals or for a not too sweet dessert. Its not yet too high sugar content makes it also suitable as an aperitif where the fine acidity prepares your taste for upcoming pleasures.

Drinking suggestions: This wine already gives a lot of drinking pleasure and is ready to drink now. It can however be stored for a long time because its concentratet constituents have a very positive effect on the further aging process. Serve at 6-8° C (43-47 F).
