The Grüner Veltliner is the most famous of all grape varieties grown in Austria and in foreign countries often referred as our "national beverage". This variety does not have high demands on the soil or the climate conditions respectively. Therefore it is a common sight in all wine growing regions of Austria and the most widespread variety of all. The Grüner Veltliner is best as long as it is young and fresh. Because of its juvenile and racy nature it´s always a pleasure to drink a glass of it. Its alcohol content varies from light to average.

Colour

 :

The colour of a Grüner Veltliner ranges from green to yellow. After some storage time in the bottle the colour becomes golden-yellow.

Taste

 :

Light, racy and spicy, with a juvenile fresh acidity, has a typical peppery aftertaste alike most Grüner Veltliner wines.

Suits to

 :

Baked or roasted poultry, cold plates and cheese.
