The Chardonnay is a variety of the Pinot family. Compared to the Pinot Blanc it normally seems to be more elegant and gentle, and undoubtly is a very noble white wine. The grape shows a tendency to higher sugar levels which is essential for the production of the typical Chardonnay wine. A Chardonnay is usually a rich and full wine with a higher alcohol level.

The colour varies from delicate light yellow and lemon-yellow to rich straw-yellow.

Taste

 :

Typical for this variety is the distinctive racy and fruity note. Chardonnay wines should always be dry fashioned to allow the evolving of their special flavours.

Asparagus, fish and other seafood, veal.
