Our family owned wine estate is
situated in Gols, one of Austrias most famous and greatest wine-growing
communities. Gols lies in the Burgenland (federal state) and there in the
Neusiedlersee - Seewinkel wine region at the eastern shore of central
Europes only steppe lake: Lake Neusiedl. At the northern rim of this region,
which itself forms the most western offshoot of the Hungarian lowlands,
stretches a huge flat gravel plate which was sedimented by the Danube river
during the last ice age. On the slopes of that plate, facing Lake Neusiedl,
and in the plain between both the old vineyards of Gols are located.
Here wine-culture dates back to the times of the roman empire at least, but
even the romans presumably already found wine when they came into the
province they called Pannonia to fortify the northern border of their realm.
That means, that due to the warm pannonian climate and the good soils the
cultivation of excellent high grade white and red wines prosperes hereabouts
since 2000 years and maybe even longer!
In our assortment, which holds about
40 % whites and 60 % reds you can find fresh and fruity white wines with well balanced acidity like
Junger Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, Rheinriesling and
Chardonnay.
 Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer are
offered as Late Harvest wines, both of them dry as well as sweet
fashioned.
You can also find strong and rich red wines dominated by density and ageing
capabilities. Jutting reds are treated with additional barrel ageing in
Barriques (small new 225 L oakwood casks) following the standard storage
time in bigger casks. Our assortment of red wines contains
Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Merlot, St. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon, and
Pinot Noir. The very best red wines of every vintage are used to blend our
premium cuvée: Canopus.

room. Thereby you have the possibility to visit and take a look at our
estate, and the wine cellar, as well as to learn worth knowing things about
wine production and wine at all.
