At last it seems that summer is really going to happen now. The spring was warm, dry and just about
perfect for our vines. A great time during flowering then set the base for a very successful 2009
vintage. June was a bit of a different story though. It was relatively cold and we had a lot of rain for
our part of the world. Luckily this is also the time when the vines need the most water so supplement
their fast growth and so the rain was not too bad after all. Also we were not hit by heavy thunderstorms
which made this year almost ideal until now. Provided summer really arrives with some dry and very hot
weeks we can expect an exceptional vintage in 2009. Let's hope for the best!
By the way. We are going to bottle most of the 2008 red wines soon. Especially when it is hot outside,
cellar work is always very enjoyable. Therefore we are currently busy tasting our treasures of 2008 and
preparing them for bottling. After the summer you will then also have the possibility to taste all of them.
Be prepared to have a lot of fun!
