It looks only very humble to the inexperienced eye but our grapevines are currently fully abloom and
developing very well. We are abount three weeks ahead when compared to an average year and the excellent
current weather conditions promise a very favourable progress further on.
As a rule of thumb we know that it takes about 100 days from the opening of the first blossoms to the grape
harvest. This is of course dependent on the weather conditions in summer as well as the grape cultivar but
over many years this estimation proved to be relatively accurate. We can therefore already prepare for an
early harvest, maybe even comparable to the year 2003. Even if the upcoming summer turns out less favourably
there will be a lot of time for grape development and ripening - beeing three weeks ahead is a nice
assurance to have. We see the current development of our vinyards very positively and are eager to
experience the progression of the growing season.
